New WhatsApp Pricing Categories (India specific)

WhatsApp now charges per template message sent, and the pricing varies by template category — such as marketing, utility, or authentication. You will now be billed per template, not per session.

1. Marketing

Used for offers, announcements, reminders, and reactivation messages.

Used for transactional updates like order status, shipping alerts, or bill reminders.

3. Authentication

Used for OTPs, login codes, and identity confirmation.

4. International Authentication (Sent to Users Outside India)

This rate applies when Indian brands send OTPs to international numbers.

Used for responding to customer-initiated messages.

Free of charge, as long as:

  • The customer starts the conversation
  • Your business replies within 24 hours
  • You don’t send promotional or marketing content

No tiers apply here, as service conversations are completely free when conditions are met.
