Helo.ai by VivaConnect launched Helo Voice at Global Fintech Fest 2026 in Mumbai.
It's an enterprise AI voice agent that answers every call on the first ring, speaks the caller's language, and finishes the task before they hang up.
At our booth, we didn't play a demo video. We handed visitors a phone number and asked them to break it.

What happened at GFF 2026
Global Fintech Fest is organised by the Payments Council of India, NPCI and the Fintech Convergence Council. The 2026 edition was its seventh, with participants from more than 80 countries.
This year's theme put agentic AI first, alongside tokenisation and quantum.
That suited us. Helo Voice is agentic AI aimed at a very ordinary problem: the phone line.
At Booth 08–011, visitors could:
- Call the voice agent and try to trip it up
- Watch a working agent get built from a single prompt in about five minutes
- Bring a real communication problem and see it mapped on the platform
On stage: On 9 September, our Founder & MD Vikram Raichura moderated the panel Agentic AI and the Future of Financial Services in Hall 103.
The panel asked one question. What does agentic AI actually do for financial services, once you strip out the hype?
Our answer was running at the booth. An agent that hears a borrower's question, reads the real amount from the lender's system, and sends the payment link on the same call.
Why launch voice AI at a fintech festival?
Because money still moves over the phone.
Think about who actually calls a bank or lender:
- A borrower checking an EMI amount before the due date
- A policyholder whose renewal is due on Friday
- A customer who spotted an unknown debit at 11pm
None of them are browsing. They called because an email reply would be too slow.
Yet most businesses still answer with a menu, a hold queue and an agent who starts from zero.
The real limit is headcount. Human calling grows only as fast as hiring. A collections drive waits for new staff. A bill cycle or outage causes a call spike, and every abandoned call is a lost payment or a wasted lead.
Voice AI grows with infrastructure instead. A hundred thousand reminder calls become an API call, not a call-centre project.
We've spent 25 years building enterprise communication in India, mostly for regulated, high-volume businesses. The phone was the next channel to fix.
The booth challenge: call it, interrupt it, switch languages
We asked visitors to behave like real customers:
- Ask questions out of order
- Change their mind mid-sentence
- Switch to Hindi without warning
- Ask for a human, then listen to the transfer
Here's the kind of exchange the demo was built for:
Caller: Can you also tell me my next due date?
Agent: Yes. It is due on 3 September.
Caller: Ek minute, Hindi mein bataiye.
Agent: (carries on in Hindi, same context, same call)
Why these tests? Interruptions, language switches and dead-end escalations are where older phone automation usually breaks.
9 Helo Voice features that fix broken phone lines
Each feature removes one specific problem. Here's the short version.
1. Real conversation at sub-second speed
The problem: IVR menus make callers do the work, and many just hang up.
What Helo Voice does: It knows when the caller starts and stops talking, handles interruptions, and follows questions in any order. Nobody presses 1.
2. Multilingual, even mid-sentence
The problem: India doesn't call in one language, and many callers mix two.
What Helo Voice does: One agent speaks Hindi, English and regional languages. Speech engines are chosen per language, and code-switching is handled live.
3. It takes action during the call
The problem: A voice agent that can't see customer data can only read scripts.
What Helo Voice does: It calls your APIs mid-conversation to read balances, check order status, raise tickets, update your CRM or confirm payments. Answers come from your own documents and policies.
Why it matters: The call becomes the transaction. No "we'll get back to you." See how we connect to core systems through Helo.ai integrations.
4. Live handoff to a human, with zero audio gap
The problem: Customers hate repeating themselves.
What Helo Voice does: It transfers the live call with the full transcript, routed by skill or language.
Tip: Keep advice-led and sensitive conversations human by design. The handoff keeps the context intact.
5. Outbound campaigns from one API call
The problem: Human outbound calling is slow, costly and inconsistent.
What Helo Voice does: It runs thousands of calls in parallel for renewals, collections, reminders and surveys, then writes outcomes back to your CRM.
Compliance note: In India, commercial calls fall under TRAI's TCCCPR 2018 framework, which uses DLT to register senders and record customer consent. Helo.ai handles this through DLT management.
6. Carrier-grade telephony, with any carrier
The problem: A smart agent on a weak line is still a dropped call.
What Helo Voice does: Native SIP, WebRTC and PSTN are built in. Connect any SIP provider, mix carriers by region, and switch without touching agent logic.
7. Every call is visible
The problem: You can't trust, or improve, what you can't inspect.
What Helo Voice does: Every call gets a full transcript, stage-by-stage latency and an action log, sent to your dashboards and data warehouse.
8. Security built in from day one
The problem: Regulated businesses can't put customer calls in a black box.
What Helo Voice does: Encryption, role-based access, configurable retention, transcript-level PII redaction and audit logs on every call.
Standards: Helo.ai operates ISO 27001 certified infrastructure, is aligned with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and manages TRAI DLT compliance.
9. One agent on phone, web and WhatsApp
The problem: A separate bot per channel means inconsistent answers.
What Helo Voice does: The same agent runs on your phone lines, website, app and WhatsApp, beside Helo Convo. Update it once, and every channel changes.

Four flows to put live first
Start with calls that carry money. These are where most teams begin.
Flow | What the agent does on the call | Best for |
|---|---|---|
Collections | States the exact amount due, handles objections, sends a payment link on WhatsApp or SMS, logs the promise to pay | |
Customer service | Answers 24/7, reads live account or order data, raises tickets | |
Inbound sales | Answers product questions, scores intent, transfers hot leads to a seller | |
Renewals | Shares premium or bill amount, due date and payment link in the customer's language |
How is Helo Voice different from an IVR?
An IVR makes callers press numbers and follow a fixed menu. Helo Voice listens to the caller's own words, handles interruptions and language switches at sub-second speed, and completes the task on the call, such as fetching an account, booking a slot or collecting a payment. When needed, it hands over to a human with full context.
Legacy IVR | Helo Voice | |
|---|---|---|
Conversation | Press-1 menus | Natural speech, in the caller's words |
Direction | Inbound only | Inbound and outbound at scale |
Escalation | Blind transfer, caller repeats everything | Live transfer with full context |
Actions | Keypad lookups | Fetches, updates, collects and books |
Visibility | Call recordings | Transcripts and per-stage latency |
A 5-step checklist for BFSI teams evaluating voice AI
If you left GFF thinking about AI on your phone lines, start here.
- Start with one money flow. Pick pre-due collections or renewals. Prove it on real calls, then expand.
- Test failures, not the happy path. Interrupt the agent. Switch language. Ask something off-script.
- Listen to the handoff. Check exactly what your human agent receives.
- See the audit trail before you sign. No transcript and timings means no compliance sign-off.
- Decide which calls stay human. Let AI absorb routine volume so your people handle the judgement calls.
How long does go-live take? It depends mostly on how many systems the agent needs to connect to. We scope it with you before anything is signed.
Where Helo Voice fits in Helo.ai
At GFF, our message was simple: data to delivery.
- Helo Clarity shows what customers do and who to reach
- Broadcast reaches them on WhatsApp, RCS or SMS, with automatic fallback
- Helo Convo runs AI agents on WhatsApp, web and SMS
- Helo Voice handles the phone call
Helo Voice follows the launch of Helo Convo at the Meta WhatsApp Business Summit 2026 in July (ANI coverage).
