Why 2026 Is Different
GFF 2026 changes three things that matter if you attended last year.
First, it runs for four days instead of three. Second, the Trident Hotel joins the Jio World Centre as a venue. Third, the agenda narrows to three technology pillars.
The official theme is "Potential to Impact." The full title adds the three pillars and the phrase "Trusted, Connected, Global Systems for Inclusive Finance." You can read the exact wording on the official GFF FAQ page.
Agentic AI is software that plans and finishes multi-step tasks on its own. In a bank, one agent can check a borrower, read the documents, score the risk and file the report.
Tokenisation means turning a real asset into digital tokens on a ledger. A ₹10 crore building can split into 10,000 tokens. Each token can be bought and sold on its own.
Quantum here means post-quantum cryptography, or PQC. These are encryption methods that hold up against future quantum computers. Banks need to move early. Data stolen today can be cracked years from now.
PFRDA joins RBI, SEBI and IFSCA as a regulatory backer this year. MeitY, the Department of Financial Services and NITI Aayog are also taking part. The Economic Times reported the full list of partners.

The Four Hackathons at GFF 2026
GFF 2026 hosts four confirmed hackathons. All run from 9 to 11 September at the Jio World Centre.
1. PSB Hackathon Series 2026. Co-organised by the Department of Financial Services, IBA and 12 public sector banks. Focus: GenAI, cybersecurity and fraud prevention.
2. SBI Agentic AI Hackathon. Run by State Bank of India. Focus: agentic AI for customer acquisition and digital engagement.
3. SEBI Securities Market TechSprint. Four challenge tracks cover synthetic media detection, agentic compliance, a multi-asset investor super app, and IPO document preparation for SMEs. The regulator's own announcements are listed on sebi.gov.in.
4. NABARD Hackathon. Focus: rural financial inclusion through data-driven intelligence.
Prototypes built in these sprints often become funded startups. For background on how such builds get financed, see our guide to startup funding in India.
Bharat AI Zone: Token Nxt by NPCI
Forget the 2025 format. The Bharat AI Quest, Guild and Ascend tracks belonged to last year. Several guides still list them for 2026, which is wrong.
For 2026 the zone is anchored by Token Nxt, an NPCI initiative that spotlights credible Indian AI innovation. It runs 9 to 11 September and is open to all delegates.
Up to 20 fintech and banking AI companies are selected through a three-stage process. Each winner gets a free sponsored booth and live demo time in front of investors and global buyers.
Who Is Speaking
The speaker list is the strongest draw this year. Confirmed names include:
- Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India
- Nirmala Sitharaman, Finance Minister
- Nitin Gadkari, Minister for Road Transport and Highways
- Sanjay Malhotra, Governor, Reserve Bank of India
- Tuhin Kanta Pandey, Chairman, SEBI
- Kalyanaraman Rajaraman, Chairperson, IFSCA
- Sivasubramanian Ramann, Chairperson, PFRDA
- Nandan Nilekani, Chairman, Infosys
- Challa Sreenivasulu Setty, Chairman, SBI
- Pablo Hernández de Cos, General Manager, BIS
International institutions include the Bank for International Settlements, the Bank of England, Banque de France and the US Securities and Exchange Commission. Express Computer confirms J.P. Morgan will also be represented.
Getting There
BKC sits in Mumbai's financial district. The Jio World Centre is about 20 minutes from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport.
Mumbai Metro Line 3, the Aqua Line, connects directly to BKC. That is the most reliable option during the September monsoon tail. Allow extra time if you travel by road from the Bandra-Worli Sea Link.

GFF 2026 is the largest fintech gathering in the world for the seventh year running. It is also the first edition where agentic AI, tokenisation and quantum security share one agenda.
If you can only attend two days, make them 9 and 10 September. That is when the keynotes, product launches and investor pitches cluster.
Register early. Platinum passes are limited.
